Linguate Academy is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization created with a mission to produce bi-literate students and global citizens through multilingual education. The academy has developed summer and after school enrichment programs that are geared towards language proficiency and cultural diversity while strengthening students in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.  Mandarin Chinese is Linguate Academy’s initial focus language and current programs are being hosted in North Barrington, IL.

Linguate Academy is looking for friendly, nurturing candidates that are enthusiastic about education who would like to establish long term employment with excellent possibilities for growth and advancement. The Lead instructor position will be located in Barrington, IL. Specific responsibilities include curriculum design, implementation and instruction for students in grades K-5. The Lead teacher needs to be able to prepare a course outline and syllabus, develop course and lesson plans, engage in the selection of textbook and other teaching aids necessary to the instruction of the courses. The lead teacher must deliver instruction to promote and increase learners’ listening, reading, and speaking capabilities in the target language.

  
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or University in Education or equivalent in a field of study related to the target language instruction
  • Minimum 1 year teaching experience required. 
  • Candidate must be fluent in Mandarin Chinese. 
  • Successful interview, teaching demonstration.

Work authorization requirements: US citizen or Legal permanent resident

Preferred Qualifications: 
M.A. in relevant field. Evidence of commitment to diversity and equity.  1+ year’s experience teaching elementary math.

The Assistant instructor position will be located in Barrington, IL. Under the supervision of the Lead Teacher, provide for the physical, emotional and intellectual needs of the children. 
  
Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate to the care of young children.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time.
  • Fluent in Mandarin
